About the Trust

An intelligent and well-balanced spread of investments is the key to achieving long-term capital growth. Martin Currie Portfolio Investment Trust is designed to deliver this clear objective. Our experts, all with proven track records, select and manage the best UK and international stocks for growth portfolios tailor-made for private investors.
Three key benefits of the Trust:
  • By investing in a diversified selection of UK and international companies, the Trust can spread your risk, while giving you access to the potential gains from stockmarkets worldwide.

  • Your investments are in the hands of experienced professionals. Martin Currie is a long-established, independent firm dedicated solely to fund management.

  • You can sell back shares at net asset value, less costs*, every five years, even if the share price in the market is lower. The first opportunity to do so will be after the general meeting of the company in 2009. In addition, every year, if the average discount is more than 7.5% over the 12 weeks before each financial year-end, shareholders can redeem their shares at net asset value (less costs).

    * As defined in Article 47 of the Articles of Association

A three-tier strategy for long-term growth
1
Around 60% of the portfolio is invested in the UK, with a focus on blue-chip companies
2
Around 30% of the portfolio is invested internationally, wherever we find opportunities for better returns
3
Around 10% of the portfolio is invested in private equity investments
We can also use borrowings when we believe it will enhance the Trust's investment returns
